All storage functions at the aircrete company of H+H Celcon is outsourced and managed by the logistics company Frode Laursen. As a result, Frode Laursen among other things deals with delivery of sales orders, manages purchasing and is responsible for stock management.

“I don't even know which system Frode Laursen uses. But this is not important, as using the integration solution Columbus Fix we can integrate our Microsoft Business Solutions-XAL with their IT system without this in any way affecting our work,” says Jan B. Madsen, finance manager at H+H Celcon.

Rapid invoicing
H+H Celcon A/S is the Danish company of the H+H International group. It is a pure trading company. Thus when a Danish customer purchases a product, the office in Denmark must make up a sales order with appurtenant pick list. The order is entered in the XAL system in one process, after which the data files are automatically transferred to Frode Laursen.

“The order is entered in Frode Laursen's system, and when the daily sales have been dealt with the next morning we receive a data file back, after which the order stage moves from Confirmed to Delivered, and in just one minute we have invoiced a whole day's sales,” explains Jan B. Madsen.

Time is the crucial factor
The finance manager describes the solution as a success, and is happy for the high degree of efficiency it provides. The company handles between 10,000 and 15,000 orders each year, so it saves considerable time just for keying in information – and time is a crucial factor in a trading company, where wages represent the predominant cost.

Jan B. Madsen says, “It's a question of developing IT solutions that add to our efficiency. We have an excellent data transfer setup. Columbus has a good understanding of our business. We on our side are good at formulating problems and needs to help Columbus deliver the solution we need.”
