SSM-Tyaszmash: Axapta calculates the true cost of production
SSM-Tyazmash is a leading provider of mechanical equipment primarily to the metallurgic industry but also to other industries. The company is a breakaway from the Severstal conglomerate and due to this major organizational change they needed a modern IT-system of their own. Columbus IT Partner was chosen to implement a Microsoft Business Solutions Axapta system.
The Axapta solution is designed to handle the special requirements of large-scale custom orders, specifically the ability to calculate the primary cost of production. The company spent three months evaluating various IT-systems and implementation partners. Finally the top management decided that Columbus IT Partner and Microsoft Business Solutions was the best combination.

True cost
The main job was to automate and optimize the handling of all costs. The system should support the gathering and distribution of the costs across the enterprise and as a consequence make it clear what the true primary cost of production is. Columbus has developed a module that automatically gathers and distributes cost. During the implementation period another module was developed. This module takes the cost of auxiliary materials used in the primary production in to account which is very important since these materials can represent as much as 15% of the total cost.
