Situation
In 1997, Trevira Neckelmann started using SAP, as dictated by the German headquarters, to handle their Financial and Purchasing processes (purchasing of the raw materials, etc., for production). After one year of trying to work with this system, however, they had to give up because that software did not have the functionality they need.
With Trevira's complex production and strong development-oriented product approach, they
need the flexibility and scalability to constantly gather new customer requirements and specifications for their ongoing product development.
Business Solution Choice
Trevira Neckelmann in Denmark went through a major Business Process Reengineering and determined that they wanted to have both standard and customized approaches to their production, with strong MRP (Materials Resource Planning) functionality. They evaluated Intentia's Movex, a product called B-PEX (similar to SAP), and Navision Axapta.
