Danish Salaried Employees Association
With the right combination of personal relations, a drastically paired down ERP system and rapid and smooth conversion, Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta and Columbus IT Partner have made life much easier for the Danish Salaried Employees Association.
The Danish Salaried Employees Association, Service Association (DFF-S) was facing a major challenge: the supplier of the association's finance system Axapta had gone into liquidation, and therefore the association was forced to choose a new supplier. “The choice of ERP supplier is not just a question of the solution's price and quality; one also embarks upon a close collaboration with the supplier, and for us human relations are extremely important. As we have good relations with certain people at Columbus IT Partner, we were able to reject the other offers we had received really very quickly,” says Chief Accountant Rasmus Østrup Møller, DFF-S, who is extremely satisfied with the choice of Columbus as new ERP supplier.
Axapta's flexibility is a tonic for the budget
”Originally, we had an XAL system, but we found that the costs for maintaining it were rising all too rapidly. With its modular structure Axapta is just flexible enough to meet our needs. Thus we do not have lots of unnecessary modules, and in contrast to XAL we only had to make very minor adjustments to Axapta. And that really means something when it comes to expensive upgrades and consultancy hours,” says Rasmus Østrup Møller.
DFF-S had to make between 150 and 200 major and minor modifications to the XAL solution, whilst the Axapta solution only required 15 modifications. And that's something the chief accountant can feel in his budget.
Axapta is an easy world
Besides being simple and paired down to the bone in its modular structure, Axapta also stands out for its ease of conversion and integration to other systems.
Conversion from XAL to Axapta was performed using the Columbus X2A conversion system, a smooth process indeed.
“Conversion of the systems went smoothly. But Axapta is also an easy world in which to perform, and my experience both of implementation and running is that generally it all goes smoothly. And fortunately when things do go wrong, Columbus is quick in attending and skilled at troubleshooting,” says Rasmus Østrup Møller.
